The Fourth Remembered

What can we learn from America’s history which is applicable to what is occurring in the country today?

That whether the government owns the corporations, or the corporations own the government, it’s fascism.

That the members of the Continental Congress lived in a character- and value-driven world, unlike those of us alive today, who live in a world driven by the cult of personality, where positive values have been thrown away.

That John Adams said, “There are only two creatures of value on the face of the earth: those with a commitment, and those who require the commitment of others.”

That men like John Adams didn’t think, “All for one, and more for me.”

That greed destroys what freedom and honor build.

That liberty and freedom are not the same things.

That there are few people today who study history — any history — and can recognize when patterns of tyranny and totalitarianism recur.

Excuse Me If I Do Not Celebrate the 4th of July

Many people here in the U.S. are losing their freedoms and don’t really notice. When it becomes apparent it will be too late- all you can do is ask that they loosen the shackles around your ankles, they are starting to hurt.
