Deep Trouble

Does a Deep State exist in the United States?

To answer that, we must first understand what a deep state is.

The term comes from a radical criticism by the left about how deep the capitalist state can go – how networked it is, from the military industrial complex to all the features of the modern, Hegelian/Hobbesian state.

A deep state can exist in a democracy which lacks control over government economic, military and intelligence organizations. Such secrecy is destructive to a democracy that is supposed to be under an elected civilian political leadership.

When government organizations can implement operations in secrecy without public oversight (Which they have always done), they are effectively circumventing a democracy.

Does this exist in the United States? Let’s look at some historical events today.

Some of us baby boomers may remember COINTELPRO. The FBI began COINTELPRO—short for Counterintelligence Program—in 1956 to disrupt the activities of the Communist Party of the United States. In the 1960s, it was expanded to include several other domestic groups, such as the Ku Klux Klan, the Socialist Workers Party, and the Black Panther Party. This action was actually done not to disrupt their agenda, but gain control of it for future usage.

All COINTELPRO operations were supposedly ended in 1971. Although limited in scope (about two-tenths of one percent of the FBI’s workload over a 15-year period- officially), COINTELPRO was later rightfully criticized by Congress and the American people for abridging first amendment rights and for other reasons.

You may or may not recall Operation Mockingbird. Operation Mockingbird was a secret campaign by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to influence media. Begun in the 1950s, it was initially organized by Cord Meyer and Allen W. Dulles, it was later led by Frank Wisner after Dulles became the head of the CIA. The organization recruited leading American journalists into a network to help present the CIA’s views, and funded some student and cultural organizations, and magazines as fronts. As it developed, it also worked to influence foreign media and political campaigns, in addition to activities by other operating units of the CIA.

A Project Mockingbird is mentioned in the CIA Family Jewels report, compiled in the mid-70s. According to the declassified version of the report released in 2007, Project Mockingbird involved wire-tapping of two American journalists for several months in the early 1960s. There was certainly more but you won’t get to read about it anytime soon and if you do it will be re-written for public.

The list goes on and on. Many incidents we hear about in the news have a more complicated history than most civilians could ever imagine. Government agencies hardly ever serve the people and this is contrary to democracy. The circumventing of democracy has a long history and is likely very careful and sophisticated in 2017.

The corporate-owned mass media will tell you the idea of a “deep state” is only “conspiracy theory,” but history is indisputable. This makes me think the mass media has been thoroughly compromised; and it has been for some time now.

The bottom line here is government agencies are acting in secrecy outside of the democracy. Unfortunately for democracy, a secret “deep state” does seem to exist and operate in the US and probably in other countries as well. Just be aware. Walking in the dark these days can get you in trouble or worse.

Insights After the Ukraine War

The war in Ukraine is a tragic event but it’s one we can all learn from. Nothing provides as much valuable information as real world situations where ordinary people are forced to deal with extraordinary events. At the end of the day, the war in Ukraine gives us plenty of examples of what works and what doesn’t, and while personal experience is important, the wise person learns from other people’s mistakes so as not to repeat them himself.

What can we learn from these civilians living in war zones?

Maybe the most obvious lesson to be learned is there’s simply no surviving against an occupation force when facing them as an individual or small group.

Houses, towns and even entire cities can eventually get surrounded and overpowered given greater tech, weapons and a people that lack skills and faith to overcome.

A single house or compound represents a laughable resistance to organized armed forces, let alone ones with artillery and air support at their disposal. Once shooting at your position is no longer fun, they’ll just blow you up. It’s as simple as that.

Artillery and infantry beat survivalist hero fantasies. Every. Single. Time. Last resort: Escape with your life, cut your losses and move to “per se” higher ground; live to fight another day scenario.

In various parts of eastern Ukraine, people are suffering- the lack of water, electricity and food shortages. The lesson is, prepare to always cover the basics, food, water, shelter and medicines; if not for yourself, for others. There will always be people who walk in less degrees of faith and supplies than yourself.

You need to store food (somewhere), food requiring no refrigeration and little or no cooking. You need water, not just a water filter (which you should have as well) but actual jugs of water.

For true emergencies and survival situations, just like you can’t have too much food you can’t have too much water. Have a well, have a river, if nothing else keep an eye out for large barrels on sale and keep some full of water. Even the jugs for carrying water become valuable.

Have a good supply of medicines: ibuprofen, vomit and diarrhea medicine, liquid ibuprofen for children, bandages, diapers, formula, antibiotics and anointing oil (see Mk 16:18 w/Jas 5:14 if you can believe!). Antibiotics are the difference between life and death when you need them.

Have lanterns, flashlights and lots of batteries. Get an emergency crank radio. Cell phones can be tracked, so ditch the phone when you can. Have alternative means of cooking and heating. A wood burning stove may do the trick, but make sure you always keep extra wood stored for emergencies.

Maybe you’re lucky enough to still have power, if so an electric burner can be put to good use then, saving other fuels for when power goes out. Have extra fuel in storage for your vehicle, enough to make it to your potential bug out location in case you need to leave in a hurry. Have a tent and sleeping bags. These can be used not only for sleeping in tents, but also if you happen to find yourself in a refugee camp (not FEMA camps- we want to avoid those places) during winter or in an unfurnished flat after evacuation or if you’re staying with friends or family.

In a shelled city, underground is the only safe place to be, to some extent at least. An actual bunker would be ideal, but people try finding shelter anywhere underground. In buildings, windows and doors are covered with sandbags and people sleep in the interior room away from exterior walls and windows. Windows never survive shelling. The broken glass makes it impossible to stay warm in winter. Plastic sheeting can sometimes be used to close openings and still allow light in, but this is far from an ideal solution and the loss of heat is substantial.

Another hard lesson is don’t get involved. From a survival perspective, the best way to go about conflicts which can develop into violent clashes is to not get involved in the first place. Avoid going to protests and marches; they have NEVER produced any results (worth mentioning).

This is especially true in cases such as the one of Ukraine, where people are seen on one side or the other during protests and clashes, often filmed.

Something as simple as a rival remembering your face from the rallies can land you in jail or worse. In this kind of situation, it’s even neighbors, former friends and coworkers that may remember your political affiliation. They may end up mentioning your name to the new authorities and they will come after you.

Boomerang Existence

As I was sitting outside this morning sipping my coffee and watching the sun climb over the horizon, I looked down and saw a curved stick on the ground that reminded me of a boomerang. Suddenly I was caught up in memories of me as a kid playing for hours on end in my grandfather’s backyard with a small wooden boomerang he had given to me as a gift.

Remember when you were a kid, how fascinated you were with boomerangs? (At least I was) You take this flat, curved piece of wood and throw it and then watch in amazement as it curves around in the air and comes right back to you.

As ‘miraculous’ as that seemed when we were kids, I’ve found that most of our life is like that. Whatever we throw out there, comes back to us; IT’S BIBLICAL!

We live in a boomerang world.

Let me explain:

If you smile at someone, in almost every case, they will smile back. Try it now with someone nearby and see if it works.

If you’re kind toward someone, they will usually be kind in return. Of course, this also works in the other direction.

If you complain to someone, they will share their complaints with you. In fact, you may quickly find yourself in a subtle competition to see who is more miserable.

If you get angry at someone, they will usually get angry with you. And so on …

The fact is, whatever you decide to throw out into the world will usually circle around and land right back at your feet, much like the boomerangs we played with as kids.

Here’s what struck me this morning.

I have a choice about what I decide to throw out into my world. I have a choice about what I want to land at my feet?

If you want more joy – throw it out there.

If you want more happiness – throw some happiness out there to someone else and watch it miraculously come back to you.

It even works with money. Need money? Give some away. The spiritual leaders from the beginning of time have been telling us this, but most of us are afraid to believe it.

It works in just about every area of our life. When we give something away, when we throw it out there – it comes back to us.

But here’s the good news and this is really the miraculous part, we actually get more back than what we throw out there. Plant a seed and you don’t just get one seed back. You get hundreds – maybe even thousands!

So today and for as many days afterwards as you want, make a conscious choice about what you want to throw out into the world. By doing this, you will be making a choice about what is going to come back and land at your feet.

We live in an uncertain world. One minute all is well and the next minute bad news, on television, radio; even the weather can be unpleasant to people. In spite of all that’s happening around us should we not send out some good moral judgments? Should we not be leaders with high moral standards? Throw it out there, set a new standard with old values.

Remember the boomerang and that whatever you throw out there, will come back to you many times over.

Lk 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

Dear Fellow Americans

When you hear and see the reports coming from Venezuela, it’s absolutely heartbreaking.

What was once a prosperous, thriving and secure nation more than a decade ago, has now turned into a socialist, 3rd-world nightmare. All because of big-government, left-wing policies that included higher social spending, taxes, and money printing.

This has led to professionals such as doctors leaving the country in droves… widespread starvation, violence and civil unrest…. as well as shortages of food and necessities, such as food and toilet paper.

Just like almost every other socialist government, it promised a workers’ paradise on earth… but instead, delivered the earthly version of hell.

Here in the US, we’re seeing eerily similar events to Venezuela: Protests and rallies where left-wing groups such as Antifa attack peaceful, conservative folks who exercise their First Amendment right to free speech.

Inflation is rampant in real estate, higher education and health care… putting a big financial squeeze on the American middle class.

The obama administration nearly doubled our national debt, now set to break $20 trillion this year, and over $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities. Simple math tells you there’s no way these debts will be paid off.

History shows us – just like it is in Venezuela – that governments try and debase the currency to pay off the debt with cheaper dollars. But it destroys wealth and purchasing power of average citizens, and leaves a trail of financial tears in its wake.

Unfortunately, the US is no different, although President Trump seems to be trying to reverse the damage that obama did from eight years in office. But given the size of these debts, it may already be too late despite his best efforts.

History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes. Sadly, the United States is playing a similar tune to other nations throughout history. The smartest thing to do is hope for the best, and prepare for the worst.

Will this happen one day soon in the USA??

Watch video below and you decide…could it happen similar?

A Man Who Sold Hot Dogs

There was once a man who lived by the side of the road and sold hot dogs. He was hard of hearing so he had no radio – he had trouble with his eyes, so he read no newspapers and of course he didn’t look at television. But he sold very good hot dogs. He put up signs on the highway telling everyone how good they were, he stood on the side of the road and cried out to all that past ‘buy a hot dog, they are the best in town’.

And people bought his hot dogs and he increased his meat and bun orders. He bought a bigger stove to take care of all the extra business. He finally got his son to come and help him out with his business.

But then something happened, his son who had been well educated said . . . ‘ Father, haven’t you been listening to the radio or reading the newspapers or watching television? There’s a big recession happening right now. The current business situation is terrible in this country – we have problems with unemployment, high living costs, strikes, pollution, the influence of minorities and majorities, the rich, the poor, drugs, alcohol, capitalism and communism ‘.

Where upon his father thought, ‘ well my son’s been well educated, he reads the papers, listens to the radio and watches television, so he ought to know ‘.

So his father cut down on his meat and bun orders, took down all his advertising signs and no longer bothered to stand by the side of the road to promote and sell his hot dogs, . . . . and his hot dog sales fell almost overnight.

‘You’re right, son’ the father said ‘we certainly are in the middle of a recession’

THINK ABOUT THIS VERY CAREFULLY- SHARE IT! AND……….KEEP SELLING HOT DOGS! (well, you know what I mean 😉

Don’t let the so-called bad news and propaganda inspire you to become like what you hear and see. Stay committed to doing your own things. And Thank God for His blessings. They are yours. It does not matter how bad the world hurts, you’re doing fine. 🙂

She Went An Entire Year Without The Internet…

SPECIAL POST

Well, LOL! I received this article recently and thought to listen to this testimony/experience rather and found it intriguing. I thought it important enough to share here which I often don’t reprint things of this nature; however, seeing how I can remember when their were no cell phones, no computers, no tech of really anything to speak of; it was a life different than today- a world that seemed a little more stable. I mean what would you or I do if somewhere down the road, the lights went off forever? What would people do if say the web/net switch was flipped off; and the net or web was no longer part of your life? With that said, I hope this inspires you……and you inspiring others. “- Moraldiplomat

“Imagine going an entire year without using the Internet – no Facebook, no Twitter, no YouTube, no email. Not even Google or Amazon.

Sound impossible?

Perhaps it is for some, but this week’s guest on Off The Grid Radio did just that – and she learned a lot from the experiment. Her name is Esther Emery, a modern-day homesteader who spent 365 days away from the World Wide Web. She even got rid of her smart phone!

Emery discovered things that nearly all of us – those who spend regular time on the Internet — miss each day of the week.

Emery, whose book What Falls From The Sky details those 12 months, tells us:

-Why she decided to spend a year away from the Internet.
-How long it took before she no longer craved it.
-What traditional old-time activities she learned to love during those months.
-How the experiment dramatically changed how she views the Internet.
-Finally, Emery shares with us what she discovered – lessons that can’t be learned while staring at a bright screen.

We were inspired by her story … and we think you will be, too!
