Counting On Dad (Sunday Inspiration)

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.” (Psalms 91:3)

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn…..” (Isaiah 54:17)

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” (Psalm 56:3)

Ya know we live in a dangerous world with both positives and negatives. The positives are easy and required, no, desired more than its opposite. However, when these evils and negatives arise and they will, our preps will only go so far. We have limits.

But God in His infinite love and grace, steps in and navigates us through the rough. And in those times, our confidence should never be placed in ourselves not in our skills or equipment but take relax in that which dwells in most of us. As we place our confidence in and count on His faithfulness in our Heavenly Dad we are guaranteed to overcome all adversities.

A true story was related to me recently of a rancher who lived in the lowlands of Southwest Texas. The father had promised his young son a fishing trip. On a set day, they traveled to the river for the adventure; they arrived about mid-morning. After the two spent some time fishing, the father noticed that a storm was moving in. He thought about how quickly the river could flood in heavy rain, so he decided that they should head home. The father and son began their homeward journey. They had traveled a quarter of the way and were nearly home, when their Jeep got stuck and they could go no further.

knowing that he would have to walk a mile or so for help, he instructed his son to stay inside the Jeep. After being gone a while, the father approached the Jeep and entering the vehicle he was delighted to see his son asleep in the back seat.

The father looked at the son and asked, “Son, weren’t you worried or scared?” The son looked innocently at his Dad and in all sincerity replied, “Dad, I was counting on you.”

How much faith do we have in God, our Heavenly Father? He has said, “....I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Heb. 13:5) Can we confidently claim that promise? If so will we be able to say as Moses did at the Red Sea: “…Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD…….” (Exodus 14:13).

Daily here and there, so many of us people on Earth face great rials, strange weapons, negatives on supers levels, poor decisions with terrible consequences, physical ailments, financial hardships, spiritual adversities, wicked lies, bondage enriched laws, governmental disruptions to all our lives, man-made atrocities, extreme weather…all this and more; all the while breathing the same air space as these things most wicked. What is one to do?

When these floodwaters threaten to drown us, a calm trust in God, and hearing His voice will enable us to lie down in the “back seat” and rest (sleep)- because we are counting on our Heavenly Father (our Dad!).

When all hope is lost, we can always count on God

Critical Thinking in a Confused World (LINKS)

I had a laptop sticker which stated you can’t co-exist with suicide bombers. I thought this was pretty much self-evident. I was working on the latest writing job at a café I frequent. The coffee is akin to old motor oil, in other words, it is superb, the young ladies who serve the coffee are beautiful and friendly, the Wi-Fi connection is reliable, and you can loiter there for hours to get work done…………”

Comparing Heaven And Hell (Sunday Inspiration)

True Story

Years ago I met a man who lived for a while in Costa Rica; near the Arenal Volcano which for a while was active. He said that he hiked up about halfway and there seeing a crater to which many people from the United States grab guided tours. If you were standing near the crater, you’d see this red-hot dome with this steam and sulfur dioxide coming out.

At the base of the volcano was this discharge of lava, consisting of huge boulder that had come through a great heat and if was covering a lot of acres of pasture land. In seeing this, you could almost hear the words of Isaiah saying, “Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure:…………”

Looking at Arenal Volcano can help you visualize HELL as Jesus described it in Luke 16:19-31 and Revelation 21:8. Jesus spoke of HELL so vividly because He doesn’t want people to go there for eternity but rather enjoy Heaven forever. A volcano is surely not HELL, but it’s a vivid reminder of the real HELL Jesus talked about. In Revelation 21 we have a striking picture of Heaven and also of HELL. The choice of where we go is ours to make in this life.

I knew of this woman who got stung in her neck by a yellow jacket and she passed out. Her heart even stopped beating for a while, but she was revived by a person nearby who had medical training. After she regained consciousness, the first thing she said to her husband who was with her was “I saw Jesus on the throne.!” Later on the way home she mentioned that she was “almost there,” and that “Heaven was so beautiful!”

We may not have the hope of inheriting great wealth here in this world, but Revelation 21:7 says, “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” What a glorious anticipation! And,…what an awful contrast is the fate of unrepentant people that want to do their own thing, their own mind and end up staying a lost sinner headed to the lake of fire and brimstone!!

The woman’s husband was the one who lived in Costa Rica.

Matthew 25:46 says, “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

This world affords no pleasure so great to cause a person to say, “It was worth it!” as they are squirming in an unquenchable hellfire.

Amazing Miracle: Christian Actor Kevin Sorbo Says That A Giant California Wildfire Stopped 3 Feet From His Home (LINK)

What a testimony! Ya know, more than 50,000 people are dead  from the California fires (msm says missing), and many others homes and lives saved…why? Maybe this story can give you a hint 🙂 Enjoy and consider this divine protection and how you can have this too! With all the bad news from California, it’s nice to hear and see good news and miracles happen to those that stand up for the One True God! 🙂

“…………..The house right next door was destroyed, along with many others all along that street, but for some reason Kevin Sorbo’s house was unscathed.

“….This story is absolutely amazing.  Like so many others, actor Kevin Sorbo and his wife were forced to evacuate from their home during the recent California wildfires, and once they left they were not sure if they would ever see it again.  And sure enough, firefighters were not able to hold back the blaze and flames came racing through their neighborhood.  Homes all along the street were burned to the ground, including the house immediately next door, but Kevin Sorbo’s house was not touched.  In fact, they could see where the flames had literally come within three feet of the house, but then they mysteriously stopped

………Be skeptical if you want, but it is a fact that Kevin Sorbo is a very outspoken believer in Jesus Christ.  He has appeared in numerous Christian films, but Hollywood has shunned him in recent years.  The following comes from Wikipedia…………Sorbo is a Christian and attends a nondenominational church.[34] Sorbo believes his religious views have caused Hollywood to limit his career, stating “There’s a negativity towards Christians in Hollywood, and a negativity towards people who believe in God.”……….Perhaps this was a way that God could show that He watches out for those that are unafraid to stand up for Him………..”

“…And this wasn’t the only incredible miracle story to come out of the recent California wildfires.  In a recent article on Unexplained Mysteries, I shared two other stories about supernatural protection in the midst of the raging flames…

What I am about to share with you is literally a miracle.  Actress Brenda Epperson is best known for her work on The Young and The Restless, and her home was directly in the path of one of the giant wildfires that recently ravaged so many communities in southern California.  Many celebrities lost their homes during the fires, but Epperson’s home was totally spared.  She just kept praying Psalm 91 over her home again and again, and her home was completely untouched by the fires.  In fact, Epperson says that you can literally see where the fire stopped “right at the border of her property…………”

Obviously the enemies responsible for these fires just could not “devour” Kevin or his home! Praise God!!!

Slave To Our Words (Sunday Inspiration)

Once an old man spread rumors that his neighbor was a thief. As a result, the young man was arrested. Days later the young man was proven innocent.

After being released he sued the old man for wrongly accusing him.

In the court the old man told the Judge: “They were just comments, didn’t harm anyone.”

The judge told the old man: “Write all the things you said about him on a piece of paper. Cut them up and on the way home, throw the pieces of paper out. Tomorrow, come back to hear the sentence.”

Next day, the judge told the old man: “Before receiving the sentence, you will have to go out and gather all the pieces of paper that you threw out yesterday.”

The old man said: “I can’t do that! The wind spread them and I won’t know where to find them.”

The judge then replied: “The same way, simple comments may destroy the honor of a man to such an extent that one is not able to fix it. If you can’t speak well of someone, rather don’t say anything.”

Moral OF THE STORY?

Let’s all watch what our mouths speak, so that we won’t be slaves of our words.

James 3:6 “And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.”

Ephesians 5:6 “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.”

Matthew 15:11 “Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.”

Colossians 3:8 “But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.”

Luke 6:45 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”

Matthew 12:37

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Have a great Sunday evening! Hope you week begins and ends as you would have it. Blessings!

Shocking Survey Finds That Americans Find More Meaning In Life From “Money” Than They Do From “Faith” (LINK)

People often quote that “money” is the root of all evil. No. It’s the “LOVE” of it, things, bling, money, riches…that IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL. It’s ok to have things as long as things don’t have you. Where your heart is, there will also be your treasure.

1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” KJV

What gives you a sense of meaning and purpose in life?  That may seem like a very unusual question, but I believe that it is a very important one considering how deeply unhappy our society currently is.  Everyone needs a reason to get out of bed in the morning, because there wouldn’t seem to be much point to living a life that was completely void of meaning and purpose.

So what motivates most Americans to do what they do?  Well, a new survey that was just released by the Pew Research Center has some rather startling results.  When people were asked an open-ended question about what gives them a sense of purpose and meaning in life, 69 percent mentioned family, 34 percent mentioned career, 23 percent mentioned “money” and only 20 percent mentioned faith……….”

How Heavy is Your Glass? (Of the Story Inspiration)

Once upon a time a psychology professor walked around on a stage while teaching stress management principles to an auditorium filled with students.

As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the typical “glass half empty or glass half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, the professor asked, “How heavy is this glass of water I’m holding?”

Students shouted out answers ranging from eight ounces to a couple pounds.

She replied, “From my perspective, the absolute weight of this glass doesn’t matter. It all depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute or two, it’s fairly light. If I hold it for an hour straight, its weight might make my arm ache a little. If I hold it for a day straight, my arm will likely cramp up and feel completely numb and paralyzed, forcing me to drop the glass to the floor. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it feels to me.”

As the class shook their heads in agreement, she continued, “Your stresses and worries in life are very much like this glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and you begin to ache a little. Think about them all day long, and you will feel completely numb and paralyzed – incapable of doing anything else until you drop them.”…….

The moral OF THE STORY: It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses and worries. 90% of the things we worry about happening…Never happen.

No matter what happens during the day, as early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don’t carry them through the night and into the next day with you. If you still feel the weight of yesterday’s stress, it’s a strong sign that it’s time to put the glass down……..and there is always a place to leave it 😉
