Dynamite= Powerfully Changed Life (Sunday Story Inspiration)

Ephesians 3:16
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;”

…I quickly changed into my after-school clothes so I could watch the men who were “dynamiting” the rock layer where an addition to our house would be built. They pre-drilled a layer of rock, loaded the holes with dynamite and then dragged a cable net over the site. Ignition caused an explosion that lifted the cable net off the ground.

Then the men dragged the net away and cleaned up the broken rock. Eventually the excavation beside our house was deep enough to pour a footer and concrete floor. The surrounding land was still the same, but the work area was completely different from how it use to be before.

In our verse above, Ephesians 3:16, the word “MIGHT” in the Greek is “DUNAMIS, it’s where we get our word “DYNAMITE.” The power of God and His Word is such that it has the same effects that dynamite had in the illustration above. It completely and powerfully changes us so that we are no longer the same person.

We have new desires, ambitions, motives, hopes and our goals line up more with God than that of the world’s following. Even people that knew you before will see that you are not the same person. 2 Corinthians states this: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

There is no ability in us to make change; not a permanent change. Oh we might can change a few things, but it won’t be consistent. When we try to change ourselves for the better we still end up doing the things we don’t want to do and then we get so depressed and stressed cause we fail trying to do things in our lives that only God can do; that’s how God designed us to be- total dependent on Him.

If you don’t like something in your life, ask God to come in and change it. He will. Thanks and praise to God that we can still in this late hour experience His “DYNAMITE” and be personally strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man. 🙂

Do You Have Troubles ? (Sunday Inspiration)

2 Corinthians 1:4
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”

The Word ‘trouble‘ is found over a hundred times in the King James (Original and most accurate translation in English) Bible, and the word “troubled” 68 times. We should not find that surprising…Job in Job 14:1 states, “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.” That may sound very negative but back then, it was a reality. Men of God in the Old Testament, such a Job, Joseph, King David and Daniel had many troubles. In the New Testament, Jesus was sometimes troubled and so were His disciples.

We see this especially in Paul’s voyage. Paul was on a stormy voyage that ended in a shipwreck. Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 2:9, “Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.”

Trouble can be in this world: afflictions (many times by our own hands), distresses (worries, stress, etc), disease (eating poorly, taking drugs, false beliefs),financial issues (poor decisions with money), loss of material items (stolen, weather related, etc), and mechanical breakdowns (man made cars, computers and machines). But how should we relate to these things? Obviously in a positive way: Jesus said, in John 14:1, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”

Again in John 14:27 Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Peter, one of Jesus’ disciples stated this in 1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Instead of being troubled with the cares of this life lets sit at the feet of Jesus and focus on God rather than our trouble. Which ever one (troubles or God) we magnify the most in our life will dominate our future.

Know this, that God (if believed) will not only help us in trouble, but also help keep us out of trouble. 🙂

How To Make The Best Decision: Bug In vs Bug Out? (LINK)

“From hurricanes and earthquakes to violent social unrest, there are going to be times when it may not be safe or advisable for you to remain in your current location.

“Bug in, bug out, that is the question.”

Making a decision to stay, or “bug in” versus leaving or “bugging out” to a perceived safer area is not always an easy one. Nevertheless, when a major crisis occurs, you will be faced with that decision from the context of actually being in the situation as opposed to simply sitting back and thinking about what it would be like and what your responses will be. Before you discard either option, it is very important to understand the risks and benefits of each action and the kinds of circumstances that may force you to adjust your plans………..”

Trials in the Storm (Write-Up)

Changing our sails……”………..For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” -James 1:6 (KJV)

One ship sails East and another West                                                                                                                                 by the selfsame winds that blow,                                                                                                                                       ‘Tis the set of the sails and not the gales                                                                                                                           that tells the way they go.

“The Set of the Sails,” by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, is a short poem about ships sailing on the sea. Riddle me this…Two ships are sailing in opposite directions, but the wind is blowing in only one direction…..How can that be?

Answer: It is not the wind that determines the direction of travel, but the set of the sails.

Life cannot control which way the wind blows, but we can control the direction we travel by how we adjust our sails. It’s not our trials, the issues of the day or the past that we visit that sails us to our destination. We know know that God has established winds to blow in our lives and by our choices, our decisions if aligned with faith in the Lord, we can go through any storm; or avoid rough seas altogether.

Some things in life we cannot change…..and, anyone can give up (that’s a bad choice), but to hold things together when everything else seems to fall apart shows us where we have placed (or misplaced) our faith and how we have set our sails. The winds of life are intended to help us “get there.” Without the wind we could not sail towards our destination.

Our peace, that which fills the void within us…and our destinations are not determined by outward influences but by our inward choices. What or whom have you chosen?

Like the winds of the sea are the waves of time.                                                                                                                 As we journey along through life,                                                                                                                                      ‘Tis the set of the soul that determines the goal,                                                                                                                and not the calm or the strife.’

Have a great Sunday evening God bless you all reading this!
