Counting On Dad (Sunday Inspiration)

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.” (Psalms 91:3)

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn…..” (Isaiah 54:17)

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” (Psalm 56:3)

Ya know we live in a dangerous world with both positives and negatives. The positives are easy and required, no, desired more than its opposite. However, when these evils and negatives arise and they will, our preps will only go so far. We have limits.

But God in His infinite love and grace, steps in and navigates us through the rough. And in those times, our confidence should never be placed in ourselves not in our skills or equipment but take relax in that which dwells in most of us. As we place our confidence in and count on His faithfulness in our Heavenly Dad we are guaranteed to overcome all adversities.

A true story was related to me recently of a rancher who lived in the lowlands of Southwest Texas. The father had promised his young son a fishing trip. On a set day, they traveled to the river for the adventure; they arrived about mid-morning. After the two spent some time fishing, the father noticed that a storm was moving in. He thought about how quickly the river could flood in heavy rain, so he decided that they should head home. The father and son began their homeward journey. They had traveled a quarter of the way and were nearly home, when their Jeep got stuck and they could go no further.

knowing that he would have to walk a mile or so for help, he instructed his son to stay inside the Jeep. After being gone a while, the father approached the Jeep and entering the vehicle he was delighted to see his son asleep in the back seat.

The father looked at the son and asked, “Son, weren’t you worried or scared?” The son looked innocently at his Dad and in all sincerity replied, “Dad, I was counting on you.”

How much faith do we have in God, our Heavenly Father? He has said, “....I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Heb. 13:5) Can we confidently claim that promise? If so will we be able to say as Moses did at the Red Sea: “…Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD…….” (Exodus 14:13).

Daily here and there, so many of us people on Earth face great rials, strange weapons, negatives on supers levels, poor decisions with terrible consequences, physical ailments, financial hardships, spiritual adversities, wicked lies, bondage enriched laws, governmental disruptions to all our lives, man-made atrocities, extreme weather…all this and more; all the while breathing the same air space as these things most wicked. What is one to do?

When these floodwaters threaten to drown us, a calm trust in God, and hearing His voice will enable us to lie down in the “back seat” and rest (sleep)- because we are counting on our Heavenly Father (our Dad!).

When all hope is lost, we can always count on God

Comparing Heaven And Hell (Sunday Inspiration)

True Story

Years ago I met a man who lived for a while in Costa Rica; near the Arenal Volcano which for a while was active. He said that he hiked up about halfway and there seeing a crater to which many people from the United States grab guided tours. If you were standing near the crater, you’d see this red-hot dome with this steam and sulfur dioxide coming out.

At the base of the volcano was this discharge of lava, consisting of huge boulder that had come through a great heat and if was covering a lot of acres of pasture land. In seeing this, you could almost hear the words of Isaiah saying, “Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure:…………”

Looking at Arenal Volcano can help you visualize HELL as Jesus described it in Luke 16:19-31 and Revelation 21:8. Jesus spoke of HELL so vividly because He doesn’t want people to go there for eternity but rather enjoy Heaven forever. A volcano is surely not HELL, but it’s a vivid reminder of the real HELL Jesus talked about. In Revelation 21 we have a striking picture of Heaven and also of HELL. The choice of where we go is ours to make in this life.

I knew of this woman who got stung in her neck by a yellow jacket and she passed out. Her heart even stopped beating for a while, but she was revived by a person nearby who had medical training. After she regained consciousness, the first thing she said to her husband who was with her was “I saw Jesus on the throne.!” Later on the way home she mentioned that she was “almost there,” and that “Heaven was so beautiful!”

We may not have the hope of inheriting great wealth here in this world, but Revelation 21:7 says, “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” What a glorious anticipation! And,…what an awful contrast is the fate of unrepentant people that want to do their own thing, their own mind and end up staying a lost sinner headed to the lake of fire and brimstone!!

The woman’s husband was the one who lived in Costa Rica.

Matthew 25:46 says, “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

This world affords no pleasure so great to cause a person to say, “It was worth it!” as they are squirming in an unquenchable hellfire.

How Heavy is Your Glass? (Of the Story Inspiration)

Once upon a time a psychology professor walked around on a stage while teaching stress management principles to an auditorium filled with students.

As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the typical “glass half empty or glass half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, the professor asked, “How heavy is this glass of water I’m holding?”

Students shouted out answers ranging from eight ounces to a couple pounds.

She replied, “From my perspective, the absolute weight of this glass doesn’t matter. It all depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute or two, it’s fairly light. If I hold it for an hour straight, its weight might make my arm ache a little. If I hold it for a day straight, my arm will likely cramp up and feel completely numb and paralyzed, forcing me to drop the glass to the floor. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it feels to me.”

As the class shook their heads in agreement, she continued, “Your stresses and worries in life are very much like this glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and you begin to ache a little. Think about them all day long, and you will feel completely numb and paralyzed – incapable of doing anything else until you drop them.”…….

The moral OF THE STORY: It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses and worries. 90% of the things we worry about happening…Never happen.

No matter what happens during the day, as early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don’t carry them through the night and into the next day with you. If you still feel the weight of yesterday’s stress, it’s a strong sign that it’s time to put the glass down……..and there is always a place to leave it 😉

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” Peter, Disciple of Jesus

Luke 21:34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.” Jesus

Does God Watch Us ? (Sunday Inspiration)

Psalms Chapter 139 9-10

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.”

We might live in the deepest basement or even the highest apartment or mountain, but in truth, no matter where we are, God is there; He is watching. He can see us because He has no equal and knows all, sees all, is all; everywhere present. Proverbs 15:3 says, “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.”

In Luke 12:2 Jesus said, “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.” That goes for EVERYTHING. Nothing that is hid, will stay hid and eventually everything be made known and exposed.

Joshua 7 tells us how Achan found this to be true and it cost him. When the Israelites destroyed Jericho, they were commanded NOT to take anything for themselves. But Achan saw a garment, some silver and some gold, which he took and buried in a hole in his tent floor. No one saw this, but God did…Achan forgot that God was watching and in the end he was destroyed along with his whole family because he disobeyed God. What a price! Was it worth it?

In reading the Psalm above that David wrote, David knew that God knew ALL about him. God understood his thoughts, heard every word he ever spoke and was acquainted with his walk of life and saw every move David made.

David concluded that there was no place to hide from God no matter where he went, for God was there. Even if we make our bed in hell, God is there with us (Psalms 139:8). But David (like we should think) was convinced that God had a loving interest in him, so he said in affect (paraphrased)….’Lord, if You see anything in my life that is not pleasing to You, please reveal it to me and lead me in the way to Heaven.’

We should recognize the same and have the same desire. Thank God that when we have spiritual needs and desire the God’s Holy Spirit to dwell in us (just ask) He is faithful to bring things to our attention because He loves us and is not willing that anyone be lost or be killed by our poor decisions in our own walk of life.

HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY

Dynamite= Powerfully Changed Life (Sunday Story Inspiration)

Ephesians 3:16
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;”

…I quickly changed into my after-school clothes so I could watch the men who were “dynamiting” the rock layer where an addition to our house would be built. They pre-drilled a layer of rock, loaded the holes with dynamite and then dragged a cable net over the site. Ignition caused an explosion that lifted the cable net off the ground.

Then the men dragged the net away and cleaned up the broken rock. Eventually the excavation beside our house was deep enough to pour a footer and concrete floor. The surrounding land was still the same, but the work area was completely different from how it use to be before.

In Similar:

In our verse above, Ephesians 3:16, the word “MIGHT” in the Greek is “DUNAMIS, it’s where we get our word “DYNAMITE.” The power of God and His Word is such that it has the same effects that dynamite had in the illustration above. It completely and powerfully changes us so that we are no longer the same person.

We have new desires, ambitions, motives, hopes and our goals line up more with God than that of the world’s following. Even people that knew you before will see that you are not the same person. 2 Corinthians states this: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

There is no ability in us to make change; not a permanent change. Oh we might can change a few things, but it won’t be consistent. When we try to change ourselves for the better we still end up doing the things we don’t want to do and then we get so depressed and stressed cause we fail trying to do things in our lives that only God can do; that’s how God designed us to be- total dependent on Him.

If you don’t like something in your life, ask God to come in and change it. He will. Thanks and praise to God that we can still in this late hour experience His “DYNAMITE” and be personally strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man. 🙂

Do You Have Troubles ? (Sunday Inspiration)

2 Corinthians 1:4
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”

The Word ‘trouble‘ is found over a hundred times in the King James (Original and most accurate translation in English) Bible, and the word “troubled” 68 times. We should not find that surprising…Job in Job 14:1 states, “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.” That may sound very negative but back then, it was a reality. Men of God in the Old Testament, such a Job, Joseph, King David and Daniel had many troubles. In the New Testament, Jesus was sometimes troubled and so were His disciples.

We see this especially in Paul’s voyage. Paul was on a stormy voyage that ended in a shipwreck. Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 2:9, “Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.”

Trouble can be in this world: afflictions (many times by our own hands), distresses (worries, stress, etc), disease (eating poorly, taking drugs, false beliefs),financial issues (poor decisions with money), loss of material items (stolen, weather related, etc), and mechanical breakdowns (man made cars, computers and machines). But how should we relate to these things? Obviously in a positive way: Jesus said, in John 14:1, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”

Again in John 14:27 Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Peter, one of Jesus’ disciples stated this in 1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Instead of being troubled with the cares of this life lets sit at the feet of Jesus and focus on God rather than our trouble. Which ever one (troubles or God) we magnify the most in our life will dominate our future.

Know this, that God (if believed) will not only help us in trouble, but also help keep us out of trouble. 🙂

Don’t know about God’s help? Change your trouble into triumph

Elvis Has Left The Building

Well, I believe it’s time for me to leave. I hope I’ve inspired you to “carry on,” There are a lot of wise directions and opportunities to follow a better path, to follow the Lord Jesus. Our society has gone down so badly, it’s almost unrecognizable in many ways. I need to follow the ways the Lord would have me to go. It’s going to get worse for so many people; and if it’s one reason I am here, it’s cause of people. We need to love each other, and point our neighbors in the right direction, that is if they will hear you. People’s hearing is clogged, but I do pray that this page will remain. I believe it will bless you. Thanks to those who’ve liked this page/posts. I wish I could have talked to many of you for more times than I did, but ya know, we just do what we do, and then move on. That’s what I need to do…..but, who knows, maybe I will pop in with something worth reading and sharing, so I leave it up to you as to your subscription. Hope you’ll hang in there. But if I don’t come back here; may God keep you and you keep Him, abide in the Vine. Stay safe- Keep the faith. -Moraldiplomat
